About Children's Experimental Theatre
CET is the oldest classical children's theatre arts conservatory on the Central Coast, founded in 1960. CET offers varied programs for youth grades pre-K through grade 12, including a school-year Conservatory program, Sept. - June, which culminates ina free festival the first two weekends of June, the four-week Summer Intensive, short seminars and the Traveling Troupe, CET's premiere outreach touring company that serves the public schools of Monterey County every year free of charge. SPRC, Staff Players Repertory Company, is the longest continually operating theatre company in Carmel, offering a 6-8 show season of the greats of both classical theatre and new works, September through May. Known for its unique fare, SPRC offers the discerning theatre-goer a chance to see productions as varied as Shaw to Betti, Pirandelo to Havel, Moliere to Ibsen. Both organizations are at home year-round in the historic Indoor Forest Theatre in Carmel.
