About Marina Coast Water District
In 1958 the Marina Community Service Corporation, composed of local citizens with an interest in a municipal owned water system, proposed the formation of a County Water District for the community with boundaries to coincide with the existing Marina Fire District. Marina County Water District (the District/MCWD) was formed by a vote of the 766 registered voters of the then unincorporated city of Marina on February 16, 1960. Acquisition of a privately owned water company serving the area was financed by the sale of 1966 water bonds.
