About National Artists Equity Association
National Artists Equity Association is a
non-profit aesthetically non-partisan, national organization for professional visual artists. Founded in 1947 as a means of working collectively to address the concerns of the profession, NAEA has been the only national organization whose primary purposes are to work for improved economic conditions for visual artists and for the expansion and protection of artist rights. NAEA operates at the federal, state, and local levels through headquarters in Washington DC, its chapter organizations, and members-at-large. Governed by an all-artist volunteer Board of Directors, members reside in 44 states.
