About The Paper Wing Theatre Company
The newest, independent community theatre company in New Paper Wing Theatre strives to bring fresh, new theatre shows to the Monterey Peninsula. We aim to provide a place where questions of justice, morality, and human freedom can be explored. We produce plays that question our moral and social consciences, invite our audiences to be provoked, challenged, and amazed. We are not a provider of answers, but an invitation to question. Paper Wing Theatre is committed to exploring these questions whether they are found in the classics, contemporary works, or new plays.
Always entertaining, Paper Wing pushes the envelope, asks the unquestionable questions, and revels in being the only independent theatre company in Monterey County!

- Protagonist Alex is an "ultraviolent" youth in futuristic a "One World Government" society. As with all luck, his eventually runs out and he's arrested and convicted of murder and rape. While in prison, Alex learns of an experimental program in which convicts are programed to detest violence. If he goes through the program his sentence will be reduced and he will be back on the streets sooner than expected. But Alex's ordeals are far from over once he hits the mean streets that he had a hand in creating.

All shows include games, and prizes for best audience costume. This is a Halloween time tradition that is not to be missed!

A snappy little parody revue about the collapse of culture, the demise of language and meaning, and the anxiety of lives cut loose from their moorings and set adrift on a sea of medical wastes. So hey, how about a song?

- One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

- Synopsis:
This grim satire is set among the patients and workers in a mental institution. It tells the story of an energetic con man who seeks institutionalization as a means of escaping the rigors of a prison work farm. Bad Boy, Randle P McMurphy – lover of life, liquor and girls – is sent to the state mental institution for psychiatric evaluation. Confronted with a repressive regime, he challenges the domineering and terrifying Nurse Ratched and manages to bring defiance, laughter and liberation to his fellow inmates, irrevocably altering the destiny of those in the ward. Based on Ken Kasey’s acclaimed best seller, this play is about oppression and its effect on society, through the metaphor of a mental ward in the early 1960s and its unlikely inhabitants.
A stirring indictment of how we determine who's sane and who's crazy.

- Show synopsis: On the way to visit an old college professor, the two clean cut kids, Brad Majors and his fiancee Janet Weiss , run into tire trouble and seek help at the site of a light down the road. It's coming from the Frankenstein place,' where Dr. Frank N Furter , a transvestite from the planet Transexual in the galaxy of Transylvania, is in the midst of one of his maniacal experiments - he's created the perfect man. A rippling piece of beefcake christened Rocky Horror, the doctor intends to put him to good use in his kinky household retinue, presided over by a hunchback henchman named Riff Raff and his incestuous sister Magenta and assisted by a tap dancing groupie-in-residence, Columbia.

- Guys and Dolls has been called the quintessential Broadway musical. It sets wonderful Loesser music to Damon Runyonland, the Broadway of the 1940's inhabited by gamblers, nightclub performers, and Salvation Army members trying to cure the sins of the Times Square population.
The rich plot revolves around a bet made by gambler Sky Masterson with Nathan Detroit, organizer of a floating crapgame.
Sky bets Nathan that he can woo any doll Nathan chooses and take her to a romantic Havana getaway. Nathan chooses none other than straightlaced Sarah Brown of the Salvation Army.
The status of the bet, the crap game, and the end of the 14-year engagement of Nathan and his girl, Adelaide, result in confusion amidst great song and dance.
