Our Mission:
The principle focus of the Monterey Bay Academy of Dance is to provide the highest quality of training to students pursuing a career in classical ballet and to students studying for self-enrichment purposes. Cecchetti (the classical Italian method) technique augmented with Russian is utilized to promote, provide, and train dancers with a thorough knowledge of the art of classical ballet.

The Monterey Bay Academy of Dance utilizes Cecchetti technique, augmented with Russian, to promote, provide, and train dancers with a thorough knowledge of the art of classical ballet.

Monterey Bay Academy of Dance offers an environment that encourages self-esteem and positive competition. Class size is limited to provide individual attention to each student.

Each class has a heavy emphasis on terminology and technique along with basic physics and anatomy, which are taught to give students a better understanding of movement principles and injury prevention through proper technique.

Monterey Bay Academy of Dance is operated by Suzànne Lundberg.

A former professional dancer herself, Suzànne has owned ballet studios along the central California coast for 20 years as well as founding two performing companies and outreach youth programs. Her vision reaches beyond the technical and into mentorship utilizing a holistic approach in teaching to create a dynamic individuals as well as dancers. In addition, Suzànne served 4 years as the Artistic director of Caminos Del Arte and 10 years as Associate Artistic Director of Salinas Performing Arts.

Suzànne's love for teaching dance and her students are her passion.
