Central California’s largest seafood and music celebration features succulent seafood, live music and a wide variety of arts and crafts on Columbus Day Weekend, October 6 and 7, when downtown Monterey hosts the Eighth Annual Old Monterey Seafood & Music Festival.

Bring your family and friends, and listen to live continuous enter-tainment on two stages, while sampling delicacies fresh from the sea. As in years past, the Old Monterey Seafood & Music Festival will fill Custom House Plaza with music and a delicious array of fresh seafood —fried calamari, barbecued oysters, sushi, grilled salmon and swordfish, to name a few.

Live bands — from blues to country, from rock to Cajun and Latin — will entertain throughout the weekend on stages in Custom House Plaza and on Alvarado Street in Old Monterey. On Saturday, enjoy the music of local favorites John “Broadway” Tucker and the Broadway Band, the Chop Tops and the Cachagua Playboys. Sunday’s lineup includes the swing blues of Red Beans & Rice and the new country sounds of 8 Second Ride.

Artists and crafts vendors from throughout California will be on hand, with booths throughout Custom House Plaza and all along Alvarado Street in historic Old Monterey. Festivities start at 10:00 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, October 6 and 7. Stroll through the Plaza, shop and enjoy the fresh seafood and music at this fun, family-friendly event.
