Volunteers needed soon!

Dear ISM families,

Lou Perske called me yesterday and made a special request for ISM. He would like to make the school look cheerful for the holiday season, and asked me to coordinate getting enough people and materials so that we could tie some evergreen sprigs (branches?) with red ribbon and put them on all ISM doors.

If you could contribute in some way to this project, please let me know as soon as you can. I don't have any special expertise with the materials, making door decorations or hanging them, but I'm willing to coordinate.

Thank you!

Day Off - Wednesday, November 26th - Yippeeeee

There seems to be some confusion as to whether tomorrow, Wednesday, November 26th is a day off for ISM. For the first time, ISM is taking a full day off on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, so enjoy the time with your families and friends. Have a wonderful holiday.

Parent Letter 11/23/2008

It's a very short week this week with only Monday and Tuesday at school and Wed. through Sunday off.

Hopefully, all of the students are ready to turn in their mission projects tomorrow (Monday) and it has been a not-too-painful experience creating the missions. The students will present their missions on Monday and Tuesday this week. I'm looking forward to seeing all of them! I am sure they are terrific.

Camille's mom, Christine Colon has helped to "install" our class's landscape watercolors they made in art at Synchronicity Ceramic Studio at the American Tin Cannery in Pacific Grove. They will be there for a couple off months so, take some time to check them out. Thanks, Christine, for making our first gallery show happen!

Thanks to everyone who sent in Boxtops for the collection at school. You might have heard from your child that we won the contest (by quite a lot)! The prize is an in-class movie and smoothies. This will happen either this week or next. Thanks for making this happen for all of the students, they are very excited about it.

The students will be forming new reading groups this week and start their new books for book clubs after the Thanksgiving holiday. The final book projects they have created in class will finish up tomorrow.

There will be math homework on Monday – Study Links 4.8 Students will also need to read at least 20 minutes and record this in their planners. There will be no spelling this week.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a restful break. Thank you for all you do on behalf of your child's learning.

Sincerely,
Mary Welsh
