#4a: 6 weeks April 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, May 7

Afterschool Programming: Chess and Chinese

Dear Parents

Welcome back! I hope your holiday break was restful and full of great moments!

For those of you who rely on the variety of afterschool programming we have on campus, please note the following two contractual programs resuming the week:

1) Chess for Fun & Success lessons: Wednesdays, 3:45 - 4:45 P.M., Room #1
==> resuming Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009

2) Mandarin Chinese lessons: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:45 - 4:45 P.M., Room #5
==> resuming Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009

For your convenience, we have attached electronic registration forms for both of these classes. Please pre-register for either of these classes and submit payment with a completed registration form into the front office. Checks are made payable to "ISM".

Please note that students participating in these and other contractual afterschool programming are to accompany their homeroom classes down to the front lawn each applicable afternoon. The contractor will then pick them up from this location. Students are NOT to proceed directly to the classrooms at 3:20 p.m. as we cannot account for their safety.

Chinese Class Beginning 11/4/2008

We've finally found new Chinese Instructors to take over the Mandarin Chinese after school instruction at ISM. Please download the flyer (PDF), if you'd like to sign up you can either print out the form or pick one up at the school office.

Class meets twice a week: Tuesday and Thursday 3:45 pm - 4:45 pm

Class is designed for the students of 2nd - 8th grades

Please note that the first session of class is tomorrow, but you can join at any time and your fee will be pro-rated.

Afterschool Art Classes - New Session Start Postponed

Due to the minimum day on Thursday, 11/6/2008 and the full day off on Friday 11/7, the new session of the afterschool art classes given by Olia Polovneff will begin a week later than originally scheduled. 4th & 5th graders will start on Thursday 11/13. 6th - 8th graders will be on Friday 11/14.

Jewelry Class Session 2 Reminder

Dear ISM parents,

The second session of the after school jewelry class is going to start next week on
Tuesday, October 28th through December 16th. This is an 8 week session and the cost is $90 (material cost included.) The class meets from 3:40pm to 5:00pm in the multi-purpose room.

The students will be able to make numerous jewelry pieces, which will be a great
opportunity to create some hand made Christmas presents.
